Event night posters - redone

These are the new event posters I have designed for the Hyde Park Social under the new promotional identity guidelines I have set myself. I have designed three different posters for three different events to demonstrate how the aesthetic can be applied to different promotional elements.

Poster designs

I have been working on my designs for the in-store posters for the Waitrose stores....

Photographs of fireworks posters

Printed fireworks poster for the Black Bull....

Fireworks @ the Black Bull

I have been asked to do a poster for The Black Bull pub for their fireworks night off the back of the work I did for the Chris at the Hyde Park Social recently for his bonfire night at the other pub he manages over in Bradford (The Monkey). The owner of the Monkey owns another pub called the Black Bull and requested some similar posters from me.  It's good to get my work seen outside of the Social especially if it gets me other commissions.

pizza menu designs

I have started work on designing the layout of the menu/advert to see how I can apply my logo to it...

I think that the black is too harsh but the textured logo is almost too subtle....

Experimenting with type - I have gone for a clean cut sans serif font - Futura condensed. I have used this font in all of my work for the social so far and I like that element of consistency. It makes my designs relate to each other which works for the social and for my own reputation as a designer.

I am keen to use image in some way with this design as it is highly appropriate....

I dont like the filling - I think it is too cartoon-like but I think that the darkened texture works well.

Experimentation with a pizza slice - I want to achieve a collage effect to make the image less flat....

I'm pleased with the  result although I think a slimmer slice would fit the format and the composition better...

I think that these multiple slices work really well....

.....particularly with the addition of the text.

I think that the logo makes more sense now and could definitely be integrated as part of the design.

I think it adds a more professional touch to the design and an identity for the pizza's at the social.

More experimentation with layout -
I think that this design works well as a cover for a menu.....

...but when the text is applied it becomes too fussy and confusing.

One idea I like from my research into logo's recently was the ribbon banner.
I created one in illustrator and then applied it to the posters....

Again, I think this would work really well as menu cover....

...but I'm unsure about the overall design as a menu.

I think that this is the most succesfull layout so far, although I like the injection of colour that the blue ribbon brought. More experimentation tomorrow....

Other promotional ideas for the social....
POSTERS - around the club to direct people to the menu's on the bar.
BUNTING - based on pizza slice designs to be displayed in the club as part of the promotion.
