I have decided to create a brand identity for the tote bags that I have designed and am in the process of making for the pop up shop and the Manchester book fair. I think that this is an appropriate way of expanding this into a more well rounded brief as well as creating a piece of branding for my portfolio, (which is something I want to provide more examples of). In terms of branding and identity for this I want to create a logo and apply this to the price tags, as well as packaging of some kind to accompany ten screen printed tote bags. My deadline for this is the Manchester book fair (deadline next monday.) Following on from this - and depending on the successful sale of the bags I want to expand to a potential range of products for the Pop up shop in November.
Packaging ideas : belly band, paper to wrap product in, stickers, printed fabric (drawstring?), carrier bags.....
After some research into Pandas in general - as I like this as a theme for the designs and the brand identity. I looked into the etymology of the word 'panda' and found that the Nepali word 'ponya' is the suspected origin of the word. I like the sound of the word and have decided to develop this as the brand name.
