I have had some feedback from Seb on the open mic night posters and he like the pink on blue text the best. He wants some copy added as well.
Unfortunately Illustrator crashed so I have had to start from scratch. Luckily I have the jpeg I sent him and it isn't exactly a complex design but it's still annoying for this to happen!
I am finding it a little bit harder than I thought to integrate the extra copy... suddenly it all seems a bit cluttered.
I'm finding it especially hard to find the right placement for 'Hosted by Sebastian de Zulueta' (which he requested to be in italics) - and balancing it with the other italic writing at the top of the poster.
Doesn't work not centralized...
base text looks off balance.....
Not enough negative space....
Not enough negative space in the bottom half of the composition...
Experimentation with grey bg - text doesn't pop and stand out like it does with the black bg. + I like the 80's feel to the poster and think that it works for the context.
Composition beguinning to work better.... thicker margin creates more negative space....
Addition of triangular pattern....
I feel that although the design needs more space that isn't text, the blank space between the two bodies of text do need linking in some way in my opinion.
I think that these simplistic shapes work with the 80's theme as well as successfully bridging the gap.
